Broken evaporator coolent coil
In 2012 I purchased a Trane HeatPump # GAM5AOB36M315AA. I had been a long time customer of Home Deport and I went through them to find a reputable dealer ( I thought) A sales man from Florida Home sold me on the "wonderful " Trane Heat Pump which he assured me was the best on the market, and would be backed by Home Depot if anything went wrong. Silly Me.
This hot summer in Florida the evaporator coil on the heat pump sprung a lead. I see from the reviews that this is not an uncommon occurrence.
The problem becomes personal as the part is on back order ( I wonder why as it seems to happen so often) and won't be in for 3 weeks, at best.
I am a 70 years old widow living alone, who has recently moved to Florida permanently. Florida Homes representative said she was sorry but didn't I have a friend or family member I could stay with for 3 weeks...or possibly stay in a hotel. As my things are still in boxes in my garage, and I have few friends in the area, this wasn't a great solution
My caution to all is all. is buyer be ware. .
